Job Description:COMPANY: Shirmar Construction Ltd QUALIFICATIONS – Hardworking, motivated and looking to grow. – Safety conscious and willing to adhere to all safety policies and practices. – Strong working knowledge of the construction industry, including concrete, forming, framing and foundation components. – Previous experience working with skilled tradespeople. – Willing to work outdoors, indoors, and all-weather conditions. – Positive attitude, team player, punctual, reliable, engaged, and able to follow directions. – Present a positive image, including communication on site, off site, and on social media and personal presentation. – Functional English is required. – Strong communication skills; ability to communicate with supervisors and trade partners fluently. – Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding duties. – Occupational First Aid is an asset. DUTIES Duties will include, but not limited to: – Operation and care of construction tools, equipment and machines. – Help equipment operator, carpenters, and other skilled labor when necessary. – Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards. – Load or unload construction materials. – Put together and take apart temporary structures, such as scaffolding. – Remove, fill, or compact earth. – Follow instructions from foreman and supervisors. – Prepare construction materials. – Assist trades. – Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary. – Perform site clean-up. REQUIREMENTS – Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle. – Must have basic tools (belt, hammer, level) and PPE (steel-toed boots, hard hat). BENEFITS – Extended health and dental benefits given after a 3-month probationary period. – Wages dependent upon experience and subject to increase upon completion of probationary period.
