Job Description:Occupational DescriptionJob purposeThe Sales & Business Development Associate will primarily be working across the sales process. This includes directly managing the customer relationship as well as providing administrative support (e.g. scheduling calls, setting deadlines, updating the CRM system). The Sales & Business Development Associate will also play an advisory role to executive management by conducting strategic analysis on NuWave customers and competitors. This position will also manage and support projects to improve the sales and marketing divisions, as well as ad hoc projects as required.Duties and responsibilities Sales supportResponsible for following up on sales leads and booking sales calls with potential customers.Conducting discovery calls to build initial relationships and qualify prospects. This includes researching the prospect prior to and after the call.Creating and leading sales presentations to potential customers.Preparing customized sales packages for potential high value customers.Assisting in editing and proofreading sale agreements and other communications both internal and external.Responsible for managing the flow of information to customers and safeguarding confidential information.Preparing call summaries for the CRM system and high-level updates for management. Strategic analysisPreparing reports for management by collecting and analyzing sales data.As a direct point of contact to customers this role will help identify development opportunities demanded by the market to help in directing R&D efforts.Responsible for creating and managing competitor analysis in cooperation with the Finance department.Conducting market research at the request of management.Monitoring sales and marketing budgets and helping ensure resources are used efficiently. Special projects and process improvementLeading the continuous development of the sales process by creating strategies for improving the customer experience and marketing products to customers.Working with customers to identify opportunities for improvement in NuWave’s customer buying journey. They will subsequently work with relevant departments to pursue these opportunities as part of an ongoing program of improvement.Assisting the Finance department with (monthly, quarterly and annual) forecasts as required.Coordinating marketing projects and evaluating their effectiveness to report to management.Organizing and planning road shows, tradeshows and expos.Crafting clear product information material for each stage of the sales process to standardize customer experiences.Preparing annual customer questionnaires designed to evaluate the effectiveness of various parts of the customer experience.Assisting with other ad hoc responsibilities as required. Qualifications EducationBachelor’s degree/diploma in business, engineering or other relevant fields is required. ExperienceExperience in handling business to business sales relationships is an asset.Experience in market analysis is an asset.Experience in using CRM software is an asset.Experience in handling SEO/SEM campaigns is an asset.Experience in project management is an asset.Experience creating client deliverables in Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint is an asset.Experience in negotiations and contract management is an asset. SkillsExcellent interpersonal skills are required.Tactful communication skills (both verbal and written) are required.Positive attitude under pressure and logical problem-solving skills are required.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required.Intermediate Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint skills or higher are required.BC Class 5 driver’s license is required (regular access to a vehicle is an asset).Knowledge of Microsoft Sales Professional is an asset. Other requirements-Professional etiquette in all forms of communications.Willing to work 40 hours a week and work overtime if required to meet time sensitive deadlines at the request of NuWave’s management.Willing to gain hands-on experience using NuWave’s machine to be able to better describe the processes to potential customers.Able to work in an office environment but also travel (both domestically and internationally) when it is safe to do so. Working conditionsThis role will be primarily office-based with some hands-on interactions with our machines and trips to customer sites to interact with customers. This role is required to be able to work independently to set and deliver on tasks and be creative in identifying worthwhile improvement projects to pitch to management. Physical requirementsWhen it is safe to do so, this role will require travel both domestically and internationally.
