Job Description:The role of the Accounting Manager is to support the development and management of financial reports including the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. They will manage the daily operational accounting processes and procedures while working closely with the Financial Director to enhance and develop systems to support the growth of the Company. Responsibilities: Coordinate and prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial statements, and year-end audits or notice-to-readers preparations Ensure financial results are reported accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with corporate and regulatory requirements Help improve financial controls and assist in developing policies and procedures by documenting systems with multiple departments Ensure reporting systems and tools (including online apps and computer technology) are utilized at all levels and with optimal efficiency and functionality Maintain a solid understanding of the company’s operations and its business, its transactional and contractual obligations Ensure compliance with necessary governing bodies supported by financial documents Support in the preparation and presentation of financial reports for the leadership team and shareholders as required Work with the company’s Payroll provider to ensure well-functioning payroll processes Responsible for operations reconciliation as it pertains to inventory, prepaid expenses, memberships, fees, deposits, leases, loans, payroll, accrued payables, and receivables Preparation of schedules required for the NTR and Annual Tax Return Coordinate the filing and payment of excise, GST, bottle fees and WCB Provide support and supervision to the accounts payable and receivable while managing the workflow of the Bookkeeper Liaise with internal departments (Production, Sales, Tap Room, Management) as well as suppliers and customers to resolve accounting issues Perform other projects and duties as required Critical Position Results: Accuracy of Financial StatementsTimeliness of monthly Trial Balance preparationAccuracy and timeliness of PayrollOrganized record keeping and filingAccuracy of Bookkeeper’s workProcesses optimized and updated monthly Required Skills and Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of accounting practices and financial statement preparation Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills Proven strengths in team-building, relationship building, systems building, and written and verbal communications Experience liaising with third party accounting firms and auditors Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and supervise workflow to meet various deadlines for suppliers and management Two or more years of management experience CPA designation or the equivalent is an asset Experience in applicable software applications (Excel, Quickbooks, ERP and POS systems, cloud technology) Strong technical accounting and information technology background Job ID: 36209799
