Job Description:InVision is a Professional Recruitment Firm involved in Engineering, Industrial/Skilled Trades, Information Technology and Professional Services within Canada and the U.S. We have a successful track record working on both small and large recruitment projects, across North America. Our client, a leading international organization, is looking to hire a Health and Safety Coordinator on a project starting May 31st 2021. This is a contract position based out of Thompson Manitoba expected to last 3-4 months. This is a fly-in and fly-out project with airfare and expenses being covered. In this position, you will be responsible for administering and managing all health and safety aspects while on site. Responsibilities: · Serve as the prime interface with customers and project site personnel, on all contractual matters. · Demonstrate a strong commitment towards health and safety standards and guidelines, management systems and procedures · Monitor, coordinate, measure performance, and report on, all health and safety activities throughout the organization. · Assist and guide all levels of management, supervisors and employees on site to implement accident prevention activities plus where necessary provide interface to Contractors/Clients. · Develop and implement health and safety management strategy and plans, including resource, systems, timescales, financials, to support, · contribute to, and integrate within, the organization’s annual business plan and long term strategy. · Conducts daily site meetings with Customer & client site personnel to address action items. · Provides others with a clear direction; Sets appropriate standards of behaviour; Delegates work · appropriately and fairly; Motivates and empowers others; Provides staff with development opportunities and coaching. · Establishes good relationships with customers and staff; Builds wide and effective networks of contacts inside and outside the organisation. Qualifications: · Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and safety or related discipline · Must have a minimum of 5-7 years in a Health and Safety role working on construction and mining projects · Experience working on projects with electrical scope preferred · Health and Safety experience in a medium or large-size industrial or professional services environment is a strong asset. · Must have a proactive Health and Safety attitude. · Must have valid and up-to-date First Aid training. · Understanding of the Health, Safety and Environment national requirements and how the general provincial legislation applies to the SGS HSE program. · Superior organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills are essential. · Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner. · Candidates must be proficient in using various type of computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.).
