The Sawmill has been a local staple restaurant in the Alberta scene for 45 years. In February 2021 we introduced our new industrial chic concept, The Mill Craft Bar Kitchen.
With 45 years of restaurant showmanship The Sawmill Restaurant Group is Alberta’s Steakhouse. In February 2021 we introduced a new brand in our lineage, The Mill Craft Bar and Kitchen in Fort Saskatchewan.
We provide a fun upbeat atmosphere based on our 5 CORE Values, Stewardship, Teamwork, Excellence, Appreciation and Knowledge, they build an acronym we call our S.T.E.A.K values.
Currently we are seeking to add some talented, experienced and professional people to our Heart of House Team.
Ensure the preparation station and the kitchen is set up and stocked.
Prepare simple components of each dish on the menu by chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces.
Report to the executive chef and follow instructions.
Make sure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards.
Clean prep areas and take care of leftovers.
Stock inventory and supplies.
Cook menu items with the support of the kitchen staff.
High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
Certificate in Culinary Arts or related field, not required but an asset.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
In-depth knowledge of restaurant best practices and cooking methods.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Aptitude for multi-tasking.
Must be able to work cooperatively and efficiently in a team.
Wage ranges from $16-18/hr
