Job Description:On-Demand Shuttle Driver – Part-Time/Casual Openings PWTransit Canada is seeking part-time/casual On-Demand Shuttle Drivers to join our team starting in April 2021. PWTransit’s On-Demand Shuttle program will transport residents of designated neighbourhoods in Edmonton to ETS transit hubs/LRT stations. Shuttle Drivers are responsible for safely transporting passengers while providing superior customer service and demonstrating strong communication skills, patience, maturity, and initiative. The health and safety of our employees and passengers have always been our top priority. In response to COVID-19, we have implemented the following additional safety protocols:Safe and distanced interview process including virtual interviews and online onboardingPersonal protective equipment providedThorough wipe down of all high contact areas in the workplace (including buses) to be completed twice dailySanitizing bus interiors with Health Canada-approved disinfectant Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Transport passengers safely and according to established policyInterface with On-Demand software via on-board tablet, which provides real-time instructions to driversMaintain radio contact with base and use proper communications protocolOperate the shuttle vehicles in a safe manner in all weather/road conditionsProvide information to and assist passengers in a courteous mannerManage passenger behaviour by quickly and effectively solving problemsReport vehicle maintenance issues, passenger emergencies, and schedule concernsConduct pre-and-post trip checks of vehicles prior to/after their useComplete various forms of paperwork, as required Requirements:Valid Class 4 driver’s licenseClean driver’s abstractClear criminal record and vulnerable sector checkNegative drug and alcohol testingStrong knowledge of City of Edmonton roadwaysPhysical ability to push/pull wheelchairs up and down a ramp or onto liftOrganized, punctual, and reliableCalm, upbeat, and helpful mannerExcellent driving skills and habits Position Details:15 – 25 hours per week; shifts cover absences of full-time employees for vacation, illness etc.Competitive wagesPaid trainingPart-time/casual drivers require the flexibility to be on-call, report for shifts with little notice, and work evenings and weekends when requiredCompany Description:PWTransit, a division of Calgary-based Pacific Western Transportation, is a full-service bus transportation company, with operations located in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario.PWTransit’s employees operate a variety of transit vehicles travelling almost 11 million kilometres annually.
