Resident Manager Wanted

We’re looking for a Resident Manager. We have a pet friendly, non-smoking, adults-oriented apartment building (20 suites), in central Edmonton, west of downtown.

This is a part-time job. It is compatible with jobs that have irregular hours (not 9-5 weekdays), or for people in post-secondary studies. It’s good for couples and anyone seeking part time work. The job: being responsible for looking after the building. This role includes cleaning common areas, all aspects of working with building tenants and arranging for / letting in repair and maintenance contractors (we can provide a detailed job description on request). We also offer extra work beyond the base salary and responsibilities: We pay $20-$25/hour for handyman work, like painting, and minor repairs, when necessary, and seasonal snow clearing and lawn work (if you’re not interested, we can hire it out). Applicants would also preferably own or have access to a truck, but it’s not necessary.

In exchange, we offer a renovated (2021) two bedroom apartment , approximately 800 square feet in size, plus basic income tax remittances on the apartment. Total value= $1050/month. The suite comes with one parking stall. Heat, water and telephone are included. In the building, we have laundry facilities and a security camera system.

Experience is preferred but not required. If you haven’t done building management work before, let us know whatever related experience you may have. The position infrequently requires some lifting, and applicants should be capable of lifting 30 lbs (15 kg).

We are looking for the successful candidate(s) to start no later than August 1, 2021, so we want to find a candidate before the end of June 2021.
