Manager, Food & Beverage – Westmark Inn Dawson City – Canada (Hybrid)

The Food & Beverage Manager will oversee all aspects of the WMD food and beverage operations including all front and back of house positions and/or warehouse operations including managing all facets of the food and beverage operations of the hotel to meet guest satisfaction. This person will also assist in the menu development for the hotel. The F & B Manager will monitor and track food sales as well as recommend strategies to increase revenue goals and guest satisfaction.

Responsib ilities :

  • Complies with all management responsibilities in accordance withCompany policies, objectives and applicable government laws and regulations.

  • Adheres to and enforces Health, Environment, Safety, Security (HESS) requirements.

  • Adheres to and enforces Risk Advisory and Assurance Services (RAAS) requirements.

  • Participates and supports Sustain Alaska & the Yukon (SAY) program.

  • Maintains accounting and inventory systems; actively manages and monitors ordering, receiving and warehouse operations within company guidelines.

  • Analyzes and prepares reports and maintains records.

  • Participates in “Manager on Duty” program.

  • Participates in the interviewing, hiring and training of all hotel Team including attending recruiting events.

  • Responsible for the supervision, performance management, salary administration, corrective action, training and development of directly assigned personnel.

  • Assist in managing Social Media accounts, F&B local marketing via social media.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma required. Associate’s degree or Culinary degree preferred. Demonstration of directly related work experience, may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.

  • This job normally requires three years of progressively responsible positions in restaurant and/or food and beverage management.

  • Demonstrated supervisory experience in a business environment is required.

  • BARS Training/Certification an asset.

  • Minimum age of 18 years required to reside in company housing, where available.

  • Minimum age of 19 years required to serve alcohol in the Yukon.

  • Successful completion of criminal background check.

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time, but able to move throughout company facilities on a regular basis. May need to stand for long periods of time.

  • May be required to work inside and/or outside of office setting with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.

  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including working beyond normal business hours and/or on weekends occasionally to support business needs, projects or operations.

  • Must be able to travel up-to 25%.

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs./23 kg, and stand/walk for long periods of time.

  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in the use of computer business applications, with working knowledge of computerized point of sales (POS) systems, Excel and Word.

  • The ability to prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment. You must also have the ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain attention to detail and accuracy, supervise and manage staff.

  • The ability to work in fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.

  • Ability to communicate, coordinate and collaborate with multiple departments, management, and staff.

  • Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.

  • Ability to respond to customer, employee and vendor feedback and concerns in a friendly and understanding manner.
