Our client produces wire products for a diverse range of industrial, residential construction, commercial construction, agricultural, and specialty applications. Its products include bright wire; a broad array of fasteners, including packaged, collated and bulk nails; stucco reinforcing products; concrete reinforcing mesh; fencing and other fabricated wire products.

They are looking to add to their maintenance team of 30, of which has 10 millwrights.

Job Description:

The millwright will be responsible for work in a heavy industrial environment that includes the maintenance and repair of:

  • Overhead cranes;

  • Gas furnaces;

  • Pneumatic and hydraulic equipment;

  • Gear reducers

  • Conveyors.

Qualifications:

  • Red Seal Millwright

  • 2+ years experience in a heavy industrial environment (They are open to more green candidates)

  • Experience doing repairs on – Overhead cranes; Gas furnaces; Pneumatic and hydraulic equipment; Gear reducers; Conveyors.

  • They will require their own basic tools.

  • Willingness to work in a industrial environment including conditions like, greasy work areas, dirty areas, heat (sometimes)

Work Environment:

They will be required to followed a PM schedule spending most of their time doing mechanical PM / repairs & troubleshooting. There will be minor welds that are necessary. The work itself is mainly inside, and the facility quite dusty, greasy & grimey. The actual maintenance shop is much cleaner & organized.

The millwright will be required to complete paperwork for certain projects: (Project code / parts used). They will not be required to work with electronics or motors.

The team culture is close knit, family orientated. They do BBQs on a monthly basis.

MONDAY – FRIDAY RIGHT NOW

once perm it is possible for them to be switched to the Sunday-Thursday shift, depending on seniority and people who want different shifts.

SHIFT TIMES:

330PM-11PM afternoons

11PM-7AM Graveyard

7AM-3:30PM Day shift

*Subject to seniority — candidate must be flexible.

The millwright may also be required to fill in on certain vacation spots on different shifts.

PPE:

  • STWB (175 boot allowance on every pair except their first)

  • Coveralls (provided)

Maintenance Rate:

Red Seal Base Rate: $45.90

Un ticketed 90% of red seal rate

Shift Premiums

Tuesday – Saturday: $0.70

Wednesday – Sunday: $1.20

Sunday – Thursday: $1.00

Afternoon Shift Premium: $0.65

Graveyard Shift Premium: $0.70

Tool Premium: $0.20

Engineer or Boiler Ticket Premium: $1.00
