What Would You Do?

Oversee and optimize network planning for Palliser shipping operations throughout the United States. Candidate will have a deep understanding of logistics processes, exceptional analytical skills, and a proven track record of driving efficiency and cost savings in a fast-paced shipping environment.

Primary duties and responsibilities of this position are outlined below:

  • 3D Solid Modeling/CAD/CAM

  • Creation of 3D frame models in Solid Edge.

  • Nesting of frame components in Sigmanest CAM.

  • Ensure all drawings and specifications are accurate and up to date in the CAD/ERP system.

  • 2D CAD Drawings & Digitization

  • Creation of 2D foam drawings/instructions.

  • Digitize foam patterns and convert to DXF.

  • BOM and Specification Management

  • Creation and maintenance of bills of materials and specifications for new and existing product lines

  • Querying Palliser’s ERP system to extract and manipulate data in order to facilitate BOM updates

  • Using offline load and mass maintenance tools to perform BOM updates

  • Investigation and Issue Resolution

  • Working with internal business partners to investigate BOM, CAD concerns, determine root cause in order to propose and implement solutions

  • Tracking of investigated and resolved issues, and their root causes

  • Product Costing

  • Perform new product costing, or analysis as requested

  • Product Testing

  • Partner with engineering team, frame builder and other key stakeholders to establish frame designs that meet internal Palliser Standards.

  • Continuous Improvement/Engineering Changes

  • Work on re-engineering projects to reduce material costs, increase productivity, etc.

  • Identify potential problems when processing engineering changes to ensure impacts to costs, other models, etc. are well understood prior to making the changes.

What Do You Bring?

  • Degree or diploma in engineering or engineering technologist – preferably mechanical engineering

  • Proficient in 3D CAD modeling software like Solid Edge or Solid Works

  • Solid understanding of AutoCAD LT.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

  • Strong team-work skills

  • Strong knowledge of materials, processes and standards used in the manufacturing process

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills

  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
