Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Canada is recruiting for a Senior Medical Information Lead (Sr. Med Info Lead) for a 12-month contract. The Sr. Med Info Lead will work a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the Toronto office.

The Sr. Med Info Lead is a customer focused product and therapeutic area expert who is strategically minded and demonstrates the advanced ability to provide high-level clinical dialogue and support to healthcare professionals (HCPs) and consumers.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide Scientific, Product/Therapeutic Area, and Disease State Subject Matter Expertise to Internal and External Customers:

  • Manage cross-therapeutic portfolio of promoted and legacy products.

  • Develop and provide verbal and/or written communication of researched medical information to HCPs and consumers in response to unsolicited requests.

  • Develop and implement plans that summarizes marketplace dynamics & corresponding tactics and highlight opportunities to accelerate the business.

  • Proactively develops and maintains scientific responses and innovative assets.

  • Interpret, contextualize, and disseminate relevant, published, and unpublished data to cross-functional teams.

  • Analyze voice-of-customer data and trends and provide insights and metrics.

  • Generate and communicate customer insights through analysis of medical information requests and attendance at therapeutic and professional conferences.

  • Shape and inform business strategy through participation on cross-departmental meetings/processes.

  • Collaborate with external partners in the management of marketplace issues as well as to optimize unsolicited medical information delivery.

  • Collaborates to develop, review, approve promotional material, scientific presentations, corporate communications, and patient education projects.

  • Develop and deliver training on disease and product knowledge and Medical Information processes and resources.

  • Identify and report adverse events and product complaints.

  • Provide occasional after-hours support for emergency calls.

Departmental Shaping and Process Excellence:

  • Lead or co-lead projects that provide innovative solutions to optimize and enhance deliverables.

  • Develop and execute launch readiness plans and actively participate on cross-functional teams for product launch and/or accelerated growth.

  • Mentor and coach fellow Medical Information Leads, interns, or students.

  • Takes a lead role in providing appropriate knowledge exchange and sharing of key processes, lessons learned and process efficiencies.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or another healthcare profession (nursing, medicine) or an advanced degree in Life Sciences, PhD, PharmD).

Experience and Skills:

Relevant knowledge and experience:

  • Experience in a pharmaceutical industry Medical Information department, in a regional or hospital drug information centre, or in a healthcare setting preferred.

  • A minimum of 5-6 years of relevant experience preferred.

  • Strong clinical or scientific background in a relevant therapeutic area an asset.

  • A proven ability to proactively contribute to shaping business strategies and lead departmental initiatives.

  • Demonstrated track record as scientific and process mentor.

  • Familiarity with regulatory and healthcare compliance guidelines/policies preferred.

  • Project Management experience and/or certification an asset.

Technical requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to verbally communicate scientific information.

  • Demonstrated expert ability to research, interpret and translate complex scientific information into professional communications.

  • Strong prioritization skills with proven ability to proactively identify, probe, and respond with a sense of urgency.

  • Demonstrated competencies for creativity, problem-solving, and developing innovative solutions.

  • Proven ability to lead, guide, and motivate others on projects and initiatives.

  • Superior attention to accuracy and detail.

  • Advanced communication (verbal, written), presentation, and project management skills.

  • Proven ability to work independently and in cross-functional team settings

  • Working knowledge of relevant software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe, Salesforce, Veeva Vault, Qlik, etc.) an asset.

  • Solid understanding of digital/virtual platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams)

  • Ability to facilitate and teach adult learners.

  • Demonstrated analytical and evaluative skills.
