This position manages warehouse activities within the service centre. This includes oversite to the regions management of quality, light manufacturing and assembly, on time delivery, safety of goods coming through the warehouse, and overall performance to the companies aligned KPI’s. This position will drive adherence to established controls and processes to successfully complete material transactions and ensure the accuracy of the inventory both from a quantity and location perspective.

This position will reside in Brampton, ON which is the location of our Toronto service centre.

This person will report up to the Regional Operations Manager. This position will be responsible for managing and leading a team to execute the responsibilities as noted above.

Key Accountabilities

  • Oversight for all operation activities within the warehouse

  • Effectively manage the performance of Team Leads & Warehouse Associates. Build team chemistry and develop associates for future roles in the business.

  • Accountability for meeting Key Performance Indicators such safety, OTD%, Past Due backlog, inventory accuracy, productivity.

  • Lead inventory control activities including transactions, material movement and staging, cycle counting, and overall material accuracy.

  • Responsible for managing daily, weekly, monthly metrics and executing on counter measures.

  • Collaborate with Regional Operations Manager & Regional Inventory Control Manager to ensure that inventory is accurate and fill rates are meeting expectations.

  • Promote continuous improvement culture and coordinate Lean Manufacturing (Kaizen) initiatives to increase overall manufacturing efficiencies

  • Work with the management team to improve employee engagement by initiating and/or facilitating team building events that also support our community such as Relay for life, food drives, fund raising walks, Habitat for Humanity, etc.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management or related field (preferred)

  • Previous Inventory Control and Quality Assurance Management experience

  • 7+ years’ experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with assignments in lean manufacturing/continuous improvement tools and processes

  • 5+ years’ experience managing a Warehouse’s Operations

  • Experience with implementing and maintaining material pull systems a plus

  • Experience with Sit down forklift, Raymond Reach, Counterbalance, etc.

  • Experience with implementing and maintaining material pull systems a plus

  • Excellent communication and people skills

  • Strong commitment to employee development and engagement

  • Experience with d365 system performing complex transactions a plus

  • Good writing/administrative skills, including computer skills (word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, Minitab, etc.).

  • Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management.

  • Team oriented with the ability to influence others.
