Description:

The Strategic Sourcing team positions the company to succeed by developing and executing a commodity strategy that limits exposure to risk and liability through strategic planning. The Strategic Sourcing Specialist understands and evaluates the impacts of both strategic and tactical decisions on the long term strategy of the supply base considering delivery, cost and quality objectives. This person possesses the appropriate skills to develop and foster positive working relationships while maintaining customer and organizational priorities.

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for supporting the sourcing strategy for a given commodity by managing supplier relationships, supplier restructuring and work transitions. They will be leading RFQ packages, source selection and contract negotiations using an established gated process and in collaboration with the contracts teams, as well as supporting the procurement teams on commercial decision making and leading various cost reduction initiatives.

• Coordinate RFQ packages

• Recommend the award of RFQ packages

• Negotiate Contracts

• Support procurement on commercial issues

• Initiate and deliver cost reduction projects

• Contribute to the development of the commodity strategy

Must Haves :

• Bachelors Degree: Commerce, Supply Chain, Operations & Logistics.

• Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).

  • 5+ years experience in a procurement-driven role, manufacturing environment

• RFQ Experience; Analyzing quotes and putting forward supplier selection recommendations.

• Excellent Contract Negotiation experience

• Sourcing and Selection experience of suppliers. Strong relationship building abilities.

  • Understanding of cost reduction strategies in a manufacturing context

• SAP

• Aerospace, manufacturing, or Automotive
