This role requires full-time on-site presence.

Your role

We are currently seeking a videojournalist, digital formats, to produce field reports and generate content for Radio-Canada’s digital platforms. You will also be required to adapt your content for other platforms and have extensive knowledge of social media. You will operate independently or as part of a program unit to research, gather, package and present content.

More specifically, you will:

  • Produce a daily Vidéojournal newscast, as needed.

  • Propose topics for news items, reports, interviews and special features.

  • Produce video, copy, audio, photos and other digital elements in tandem with the digital production teams.

  • Possess thorough knowledge of social platforms.

  • Have good knowledge of the various digital formats and best practices.

  • Produce multiple versions of your story for all Radio-Canada platforms (website, social media, radio, TV, etc.) as needed.

  • Present your story in-studio on TV and radio as needed.

  • Ensure that your journalism complies with CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices.

  • Be able to work on weekends when required.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

  • Five (5) years’ journalism experience or the equivalent.

Skills:

  • Very good general knowledge and knowledge of regional current events.

  • Ability to work interpedently and be creative in finding stories.

  • Excellent writing skills.

  • Strong ability to synthesize information.

  • Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices.

  • Digital savvy.

  • Proficiency with content management tools (e.g., WordPress, Scoop).

  • Knowledge of audio and video recording and editing functions.

  • Knowledge of audience data.

  • Excellent command of French.

  • Advanced oral proficiency, intermediate writing proficiency and advanced reading proficiency in English an asset.

  • Interview.
