Job Description:Forterra Building Products is seeking a qualified Technical Resource Engineer for its St. Eustache, Quebec. Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Technical Resource Engineer is responsible for promoting new and existing concrete products.FUNCTION: Technical Sales Representative / Technical Resource Engineer The principal role of this person consists of developing working relationships with engineering firms and owners to offer CPP products and support on new projects. Gain market knowledge and increase product presence. Represent Forterra at various industry events. RESPONSABILITIES / TASKSMeetings with owners / engineers for project development, inquiries and provide technical assistance in the development of their projects. Provide value engineering proposals. Provide budgetary estimates.Develop relationships with new clients, contractors, new engineers and municipalities unfamiliar with CPPGenerate leads and regular follow-ups with clients (engineers, owners) regarding budgets, future work and tracking project tender dates.Conduct market surveys with owners and engineersReview tender plans and specs, review QP, track results after closing and follow-up with low bidders to initiate and close negotiations with signed ATP.Gain market knowledge from discussions/meetings with contractors and engineers understand and mitigate impact of competing products in the tendering process.Review and track city and municipal budgets: Quebec Ottawa region & Maritimes.Update pending and forecast reportsEngage with and involvement with FORTERRA engineering and operations regarding customer issuesProvide liaison to customers with claims and negotiate back chargesAssociation involvement to promote FORTERRA within the market place and attend conferences, training and sales meetings. Involvement in technical committees and trade show booth participationPerform Technical Lunch and Learn presentations to owners and engineering firmsOther tasks to be determined QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLSUniversity Degree in Engineering, College Diploma, or related experience in the industryEng / ing is required, or EIT or equivalent; member in good standing in a professional orderExcellent Communication / Presentation Skills required; English and French both verbal and writtenTravel: responsible to travel within the TerritorySales experience is an asset BENEFITS & COMPENSATIONWe know that our employees are critical to our overall success.
