Job Description:Primary Responsibility – Programming specialist with experience specifically with Allen Bradley Logic 3000/5000 systems, and the ability to read schematics and repair/upgrade computer software & wiring on custom Hot In-place Recycled paving equipment.Primary requirement is programming/wiring/electronic engineering experience.Work performed is related to the process of existing system and includes upgrade/redesign an the advanced HIR recycling system.Primary duty is to provide technical support in troubleshooting and repair of existing wiring of computer electronic components and provide computer programing to HIR equipment to minimize machine downtime while on the jobsite.Must be able to read schematic of complexity & design for improvements to our existing drawings/equipment where needed.Candidate will aid in the maintenance of the programming, wiring & electronic computer systems that is the driving force behind this amazing custom road paving equipment.Candidate will learn how to run each custom paving machine and will be expected to be on the job site as part of the crew for maintenance or repairs if needed.Candidate must be able to travel during open paving season and will be working winters in Ajax, Ontario shop to repair, maintain & do any upgrades to electronic computer systems, or wiring of equipment as directed.In this full-time position the 1st year the candidate will be learning and understanding the custom equipment, but experience is a must for the selected candidate regarding wiring, programming & electronic components.Candidate is required to travel as part of crew all over Ontario Canada.Candidate will be trained on running each piece of equipment and learn to repair them all as relates to the electronics, wiring and computer programming.Candidate will be expected to be able to obtain the ability to analyze and troubleshoot issues while in field and on the job, this is a must! Educational RequirementsDegree in electrical engineering and design and/or industrial engineering a plus.Advanced degree or accredited studies in a maintenance engineering program preferred.On the job experienced individuals will be considered for the position in lieu of a degree. Preferred ExperienceStrong working knowledge of the Asphalt Paving Field a plus!Must have experience in an industrial/construction setting utilizing mechanical or industrial engineering principles, preferably in new equipment and design.Understand specifications of industrial and/or mobile electronic systems, circuits and components, use of advanced programming used mechanical equipment.Programmer specialist who has experience working with heavy equipment, would be a plus.Experienced in repairs of electrical wiring of components, onboard computer systems, reading wiring designs and or troubleshooting issues with wiring on heavy equipment systems.Installing and repairing equipment lighting signals, including switches and circuit breakers.Connecting and ensuring power to communications equipment and signaling devices.Troubleshooting electronic systems and replacing faulty components.Experience conducting preventive maintenance programs.Reading and interpreting drawings and blueprints related to heavy equipment wiring and electronic components. I.e. Lasers, safety lights, control systems experience is a plus! Other Abilities/Info:Must have hands on work style and be capable of working well with others.Will be required to obtain a working knowledge of equipment being operated during employment.Ability to efficiently work with others on collaborative engineering work, as well as to work independently.Must be respectful & professional in dealing with suppliers, vendors, residents, and colleagues.Must possess a valid driver license and safe driving record.Must be willing to maintain all health & safety requirements to always maintain a safe environment for self and colleagues.Must provide or attend Health & Safety Awareness & WHMIS training.
