HIRING – Landscaping Team Member

We are currently looking to add some dedicated and hardworking crew members to our team for the 2021 spring and summer seasons in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Job Description
Landscaping crew members will be responsible for performing a variety of work tasks in order to complete grounds maintenance and landscaping services for our customers in a professional and timely fashion.
Successful candidates will be required to operate a variety of tools and equipment to carry out specified job tasks, and understand the levels of service required at each site in order to meet HB Continental standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
Daily tasks may include: Driving truck and trailer, loading and unloading equipment and materials, operating lawn equipment, line trimmers, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers and clippers, pruning saws, sod cutters and a variety of hand tools.
Aid in the loading/unloading of trucks and trailers in the AM and PM.
Move and install soil, mulch, and plant material to assist with the construction of landscape gardens and related areas.
Fertilize grass and spray areas to control weeds.
Conduct daily inspections and maintenance on vehicles, tools, and equipment.
Physical Demands & Work Requirements
Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, and all operating required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
Ability to lift a minimum of 25-50 lbs repeatedly through an entire work shift.
Ability to walk, stand, or crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks.
Work outdoors in various conditions, including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and being around chemicals.
Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times and work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations/follow all safety procedures.
Flexible working hours

Qualifications & Experience Required
High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
One year (or more) experience in the landscape/construction industry is considered an asset
Must be trainable and willing to learn.
Must have valid G license with a safe driving history/record.
Must be able to communicate and interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner
Be punctual and reliable.
Must be able to follow and carry out verbal instruction with high attention to detail.
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
