Job Description:Lead Android Developer – Full Time, Permanent Toronto, ON. Position Summary: Responsible for the design, development and maintenance of mobile and related applications for internal and external use. Leads a team of 4 – 6 resources (developers, designers, QA testers etc.) in the build out and ongoing maintenance of a major LOB application. Major Responsibilities:Works closely with internal users and stakeholders to analyze and gather user requirements.Follow industry-standard and company guidelines for development processes and security considerationsDeliver across the entire app life cycle –concept, design, build, deploy, test, release to app stores and supportEnsure that testing and quality control are integrated into day-to-day development effortsWorks closely with infrastructure team to design and configure both development and production environmentsCommunicates effectively and professionally with business users and IT team membersDocuments and tracks work progress on internal project management systemsProvides 2nd level support as part of the IT teamUpdates job knowledge by studying current industry standards, techniques and participates in educational opportunities, etc.Participates and provides ideas for the department’s continuous improvement initiatives Skills & Experience:Post-secondary education in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience7+ years of experience in building and maintaining Android applications2-3 years of leading development teamsSenior level experience in development for Android mobile devices.
