Personal Care Attendant

By | April 14, 2021

I am an older adult with a physical disability living in my own home with my family. I need physical assistance during the day with various routines. This is not a social or sitter type of job although you might need to go out with me on errands some times, more so after the pandemic lifts.

The assistance is for personal care including lifts, transfers, and positioning (to / from bed, wheel chair & toilette), assistance with hygiene, dressing, preparing meals, feeding, cleaning and some light administrative work.

The shifts are about 45 minutes in length but can be longer sometimes. Once at noon and once at 6:00 PM.

Starting pay is $16.50 – $17.00 per hour.

Must have a work permit! This is not a cash job! Regular deductions (CPP, EI & Income Tax) apply.

No smoking, and attendant can’t smell of smoke due to my health concerns.

First Aid or CPR certificate would be best.

Will train you in the use of patient ceiling lift.
