At ET Transport, it is our mission to provide customers with reliable transportation solutions custom-tailored to their unique needs. Our Dispatchers are a key component in ensuring customer satisfaction. ET Transport has two main terminals with warehousing facilities and an additional drop-yard.
As the Safety & Compliance Manager, you will work closely with Management, drivers, dispatch and other departments to ensure the safe, continual operation of our fleet. You have a keen interest in continuous improvement and keep up to date on industry and regulatory changes. Your main areas of responsibility include:
Monitor SAFER and CVOR regularly; prepare monthly reports for management including suggestions and action plans – Recommend and implement measures for improvement in all areas such as Driver or Equipment Violations, CVOR, USDOT, Accident rates, etc.. Monitor and review trends and make recommendations to management to counteract and prevent serious issues
Monitor ELOG compliance: Make sure drivers are compliant with US and CA Regulations; Review Personal Conveyance usage; Daily inspection all driver logbook violations and unassigned driving
ELOG/GPS Equipment: Manage company eLog, GPS, tracking equipment application, setting rules, implementing improvement recommendations
DRIVER TRAINING: E-LOGS, E-Log application, Pre/Post-trip (DVIR), Reefer/Heater Training, Cargo Securement, Axle-spread and Roll-tite operation; internal and external communication apps
DRIVER INTERACTION: Take preventative and reactive measures for violations training recommendations, warning letters, notice of suspension and termination); Arrange legal support where necessary including obtaining bills, making payments, and recording outcomes
Take driver phone calls/questions and document regarding regulations, company policies, on-the-road issues such as overweight, Hazmat, load securement, application issues, potential violations.
Quarterly Driver Meetings to review performance, provide with new company policies, safety regulations, maintain minutes of meetings
o On-Call (rotation) split duties with other Safety Department staff for after-hours calls
o Make recommendations for Policy & Procedure updates
o Make recommendations for Driver handbook updates
o Make recommendations for additional training topics, tests, etc.
o Constantly prepare SOPs for all duties.
o Prepare monthly and quarterly reports as required by management
o Analyze safety performance, identify and report high risk driver trends/ develop a proactive response.
o Prepare data, format reports, and deliver Driver Quarterly Reviews and report to Management including recommendations for bonuses.
o Prepare documentation as required for annual insurance renewals (trucks list, driver list, etc.)
o Perform spot checks on driver PTI on a daily basis. Document these checks and report findings to driver (including recommendations) and to management on a weekly basis in Safety Meeting.
