The Production Packaging Associate is responsible for proper packaging of materials and finished products. This position will also load and move material and operate packaging equipment. The Utility Worker will also be required to follow Good Manufacturing Practices. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Must be able to work Saturday

  • Demonstrates punctuality and adheres to work schedule.

  • Works well and effectively with others.

  • Demonstrates a One Team Cross Functional attitude by working well and effectively with others

  • Demonstrates safe work practices by wearing appropriate PEE, following Stop Think Act, and by immediately escalating abnormalities when found.

  • Demonstrates Operator Driven Quality by performing hourly inspections, by adhering to GMP policy, and by immediately escalating issues when any defect is found.

  • Can safely and efficiently operate on a designated line

  • Can correctly run drop tests for bottles on designated line

  • Monitor operation of conveyor systems and clear bottle jams from lines

  • Discard defective bottles and report poor quality issues to management

  • Ensure proper packing and packaging of product in accordance with specific customer requirements.

  • Keeps work area neat, clean, and organized.

  • Other duties as assigned by management .

  • Duties may differentiate by plant based on equipment and plant design.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are minimum requirements for the job. EXPERIENCE:

  • Speaking, and writing in English is required

  • Basic mathematical skills are required

  • Basic computer experience

  • Supervisor, Team Leader is an asset

  • Machine Technician, First Aid OR Forklift is an asset

EDUCATION:

  • Prefer High School diploma or general education degree (GED).

TRAINING:

  • Completion of Altium Production/Packaging Associate I training for 30-90 days

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, for any 8-12 hours shift, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee frequently is required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.  

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts in a production environment. 

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.  Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes. 

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.
